3 BOOKS EVERY ATHLETE SHOULD READ

Lately, I've had a few athletes ask me which book they should read, which reminded me to share this list.

Physical training is only part of performance. The athletes who progress long term are usually the ones who develop discipline, resilience, and the ability to stay focused when things get difficult.

These are 3 books I believe every athlete should read:

1. Mindset by Carol Dweck

This book explores the difference between a fixed mindset and a growth mindset. It teaches athletes how progress comes from embracing challenges, learning from failure, and understanding that ability is not something fixed.

A must-read for athletes who want to build long-term confidence and resilience instead of relying purely on talent or motivation.

2. Atomic Habits by James Clear

Most athletes overestimate motivation and underestimate habits. This book explains how small daily actions shape long-term results and why consistency will always beat intensity when intensity becomes inconsistent.

Perfect for athletes who struggle with discipline and routine.

3. The Obstacle Is the Way by Ryan Holiday

One of the best books on perspective and resilience. It teaches athletes how to stay composed under pressure and how adversity can become an advantage instead of a reason to quit.

An important reminder that setbacks are part of the process, not the end of it.

Have you read these three? What other books should we add to this list?
